So excited to bring our first Chiroso coffee onto Voca Coffee selections.

Chiroso is a unique coffee variety grown in Colombia and getting more and more popular due to its intense fruity flavors. It has gained attention since a Colombia coffee estate used Chiroso to win the first place of 2014 Cup of Excellence competition. To learn more about Chiroso, please read this blog: (TBD).

These particular Chiroso beans have been roasted at medium roast level, so that its bright fruity flavors shine while still preserve some of the floral fragrance. From the cup you can pick up obvious raspberry notes, orange candy and green grape. When the cup cools down, you can even pick up some subtle lychee flavor.

These beans were grown at high elevation of 1900 meters above sea level, which gave the beans super high density, hence complex flavors.

The beans smells clean and slightly floral. After grinding, let the grinds sit for a minute or two, you can pick up some clean floral fragrance, and sometimes fruity taffy notes. During brew, you can pick up some subtle floral and honey aroma. In the cup, you will pick up orange candy aroma.

This roast preserves the precious acidity of the beans. Depends on how you brew it, you can really twist it to match your own preferences. For V60, I'd recommend to grind it slightly finer than usual, use 202F water temperature, and stop the brew at 2:00 ~ 2:10 and discard the remaining water in the brewer. This would result in a super aromatic, crisp-fruity cup.

It is also a great single origin espresso - intensely fruity as well. The fruitiness shine through milk when making it into a latte.
