So excited to bring our second Chiroso coffee onto Voca Coffee selections.
Chiroso is a unique coffee variety grown in Colombia and getting more and more popular due to its intense fruity flavors. It has gained global attention since Doña Carmen's coffee estate of Urrao Antioquia in Colombia used Chiroso to win the first place of 2014 Cup of Excellence competition.
These particular Chiroso beans have been roasted at light to medium roast level. The fragrance reminds us of orange-peel preserved dry plums. In the cup, you will pick up orange candy aroma. From the cup you can pick up obvious tangerine notes, grapefruit and peach. Comparing to the previous Chiroso roasts, it is slightly less acidic and equally sweet.
These beans were grown at high elevation of 1900 to 2200 meters above sea level, which gave the beans super high density, hence complex flavors.
Excellent choice for pour over coffee, as well as a great single origin espresso - intensely fruity as well. The fruitiness shine through milk when making it into a latte.
