This coffee bean is from the Cup of Excellence award winning estate of Finca El Salitre Corazón de Jesús Micromill.
The Alvarado Fonseca family founded Corazón de Jesús in 2015 with one goal: to produce exceptional coffee from Costa Rica’s Chirripó region. A decade later, their results speak for themselves — placing third at Cup of Excellence in 2022, second in 2024, and sweeping first place across honey, natural, and washed categories in 2025.
Geo Natural is the family’s own process, developed through months of experimentation. After a 48-hour anaerobic fermentation and 5-month long gradual drying and resting phase, the cherries go through a unique cool-aging stage that encourages wine-like maturation and brings the flavors together.
After quite a few trial roasts, we settled on a light-to-medium roast that brings out its sandalwood-like fragrance, juicy blackberry, vibrant grapefruit, and a sweet rum finish.
As a pour over, it’s bright and juicy. As espresso, it becomes sweeter, richer, and wonderfully rummy. In a latte, the fruitiness still comes through, tastes quite sweet.

Artistic Inspiration

This product image is inspired by Mark Rothko’s Untitled (Violet, Black, Orange, Yellow on White and Red). We love how Rothko uses simple blocks of color to create something bold, expressive, and full of depth.
For this Costa Rica, we played with that idea using colors inspired by what we taste in the cup — deep blackberry and violet, bright yellow grapefruit, warm rum amber, and sandalwood brown. The flavors are fruity and expressive, but there’s also a subtle sophistication underneath — layered, intriguing, and a little unexpected.

Geo Natural

这款产品图片的灵感来自 Mark Rothko(马克·罗斯科)的 Untitled (Violet, Black, Orange, Yellow on White and Red)。
